Coordinated Operation of Multi-line Power Transmission for Hydrodominated Power Grid

2020
In this paper, a method for coordinated operation of hydropower plants is proposed. This method considers medium and long-term optimal dispatching and transmission constraints of hydropower plants, with the maximum total output as the goal. Based on the Panxi Power Grid as the background, the medium and long-term transmission complementary optimization model of the sending power grid is developed, where the power is obtained by reasonably simplifying the network structure of Panxi Power Grid. The optimal allocation strategy of quantity in each transmission line is used. By using the allocation strategy, an integrated method with progressive optimization algorithm and dynamic programming successive approximations is presented to carry out medium and long term optimal operations of hydropower plants to provide the required operational solutions. The results of a real case show that the method we proposed can effectively improve the total power output, reduce the abandoned water caused by channel blockage, thereby promoting large-scale hydropower integration.
