The invention provides a continuous playing method and device for a multimedia file. The continuous playing method applied to a user terminal comprises: a first acquisition step of acquiring a remote server address and an equipment identifier, wherein the remote server address and the equipment identifier are recorded in a two-dimensional code, and the two-dimensional code is displayed on video play equipment which is controlled by a remote server to play video; and a requesting step of sending a video play request carrying the equipment identifier to the remote server according to the remote server address, so that after determining a video file played by the video play equipment according to the equipment identifier, the remote server can transmit at least part of the video file to the user terminal. The method and the device realize a cross-equipment video continuous playing function, and a user does not need to search video resources in the whole process so that convenience is brought to the operation of the user; and the user experience is improved.
