Clinical value of combined serum tumor markers in non-small cell lung cancer

2013
Objective To study the value of combined cytokeratin fragment 19( CYFRA21-1) and neuron-specific enolase( NSE).Methods Tumor markers were detected in 88 patients with none-small cell lung cancer( USCLC),31 patients with small cell lung cancer( SCLC),94 patients with benign lung diseases as well as 92 healthy controls using Cobras e601 electrochemical luminescence immunoassay techniques and automatic biochemical analyzer. Results The CA153 and CYFRA21-1 levels were significantly higher in patients with USCLC than in those with SCLC and in benign disease and healthy groups( P 0.05).Furthermore,in the SCLC group, the NSE level was higher than that in other groups( P 0.05).The sensitivity of single CYFRA21-1 was higher in diagnosis of USCLC and so was the specificity of single NSE in diagnosis. The sensitivity of combined CA153,CYFRA21-1 and NSE were higher. Conclusions Combined CA153,CYFRA21-1 and NSE test can increase its sensitivity and accuracy in diagnosis of USCLC,thus having a greater value in its diagnosis.
