HR GC and GC-MS study of cyclic terpenoids in North Croatian petroleum

Cyclic terpenoids in the range from sesquiterpanes to pentakishomohopanes were studied in petroleum samples from the Sava, Drava and Slavonija-Srijem depressions in the Pannonian Basin. Also, general composition characteristics were determined. The samples underwent fractionation in order to preconcentrate the cyclic terpenoids which were investigated by HR GC and GC-MS. Mass fragmentograms of specific ions and parent ions, served for indication of terpenoid peaks. Full mass spectra enabled to follow the low mass series, neutral losses and confirmation of molecular.
