The invention provides a preparation method and application of a nanometer niobium pentoxide/FTO aqueous supercapacitor electrode material. The preparation method comprises the following steps of 1, preparing a niobium pentoxide precursor mixed liquid, weighing powder of a niobium source and sodium acetate, adding the powder to deionized water, performing uniform ultrasound to obtain the niobium pentoxide precursor mixed liquid for use; 2, preparing the nanometer niobium pentoxide/FTO aqueous supercapacitor electrode material, transferring the niobium pentoxide precursor mixed liquid in the step 1 to a reaction kettle of a polytetrafluoroethylene substrate, adding a pre-processed FTO substrate to the reaction kettle, allowing a conductive surface of the FTO substrate to face upwards, sealing the FTO substrate, placing the reaction kettle in a baking oven for constant-temperature thermal reaction, cooling the furnace to a room temperature after reaction finish, taking out the FTO substrate, washing the FTO substrate, and performing vacuum drying, thereby obtaining the nanometer niobium pentoxide/FTO aqueous supercapacitor electrode material. The preparation method has the advantages of simplicity in process, low cost in raw material, no poison and no toxicity, and mass production is facilitated.
