Apparatus and method for influencing the propulsion of a vehicle

The invention relates to a device for influencing the propulsion of a vehicle. To this end, said device comprises first means (101) serving to detect a transversal acceleration magnitude describing transversal acceleration exerted upon the vehicle. The device also comprises second means (204) for detecting a magnitude describing the time response of the transversal acceleration magnitude. The device further includes third means (209) detecting an engagement magnitude depending at least on the transversal acceleration magnitude and the magnitude describing the time response of the transversal acceleration magnitude. The device also has fourth means for carrying out at least engagements of the engine to influence the propulsion of the vehicle, wherein said engagements of the engine are carried out depending on the engagement magnitude.
