The utility model discloses an adjustable permanent-magnet magnetorheological (MR) damper, which comprises a round outer cylinder, end covers, a piston and a piston rod, wherein the end covers are fixedly connected at the left and the right ends of the round outer cylinder respectively; two steps are arranged in the end covers; a flow channel is formed on the outer wall of the first step of the end cover; the piston rod passes through the center holes of the two end covers; a movable earring is arranged at the exit end of the piston rod; the piston is in transition fit with the piston rod and is arranged in an inner cylinder; at least two permanent-magnet rings are sleeved outside the outer cylinder; a magnet separating ring is fixedly connected between the permanent-magnet ring and the permanent-magnet ring (13); the magnetic poles of the two adjacent permanent magnet rings are mutually repulsive; and the outer cylinder is in clearance fit with the permanent magnet rings and the magnet separating ring. The utility model has the beneficial effects that no special power supply system needs to be arranged; and the number or the magnetic force of the permanent magnet rings is adjusted so as to adjust the damping coefficient and the loading capacity of the damper. Furthermore, the damper has the advantages of convenient use, simple structure, reliable sealing, low manufacture and maintenance costs, etc.
