Types of the territorial timber industry systems reflecting the territorial organization of the timber-industrial complex are considered. Their characteristics and also conditions and limitations of self-development are given. The important role of regional and settlement timber-industrial systems in strengthening the economic basis of forest periphery is emphasized.
