Preparation method for porous calcium alginate gel beads used for heavy metal wastewater treatment

2014
The invention discloses a preparation method for porous calcium alginate gel beads used for heavy metal wastewater treatment. The method comprises the following steps: step 1: a surface active agent and sodium bicarbonate are respectively added into a mixed liquor of sodium alga acid and polyving akohol, after stirring and dissolving, a sodium alga acid and polyving akohol mixed liquor containing 3 percent of the sodium alga acid, 1 percent of the polyving akohol, 0.2 to 0.6 percent of the surface active agent and 0.5 percent of sodium bicarbonate is obtained; step 2: the obtained mixed liquor obtained in the step 1 is dripped dropwise into a calcium chloride/acetic acid mixed liquor containing 5 percent of calcium chloride and 1.5 percent of acetic acid, so that foamed calcium alginate composite gel beads can be prepared. According to the invention, by changing the surface active agent, the purposes of adjusting and controlling the apertures of the foamed calcium alginate composite gel beads can be achieved, and the apertures range from 20 microns to 160 microns. Through adjustment to the apertures, the specific surface area of the foamed calcium alginate composite gel beads can be changed. Therefore, the adsorbing effect of the foamed calcium alginate composite gel beads to heavy metal ions can be improved, and the foamed calcium alginate composite gel beads are applicable to heavy metal wastewater treatment.
