Synthesis and Characterization of PBAMO/GAP Tri-block Copolymer

2012
The tri-block copolymer of glycidyl azide polymer(GAP) and poly(bis(azidomethyl)oxetane(PBAMO) was synthesized by cationic ring opening polymerization with the borontrifluoridedimethyl ether complex as catalyst and the GAP as initiator. The structure and the thermal properties of the copolymer were characterized by IR,1H NMR,GPC,DSC and TG.The results show that the molecular weight of the copolymer is controlled, the functionality is agree with the calculation, and the tri-block copolymer exhibits the characteristics of an ETPE.The decomposition of the copolymer begins at 229℃,which means that the copolymer has good thermal stability.
