Thermally stable bismuth vanadate pigments with their brilliant greenish yellow tint may be used as alternatives to lead and cadmium-containing pigmentations; they are especially suitable for outdoor applications. To qualify as replacement products, however, these pigments not only need to afford the required applicational properties, but they also have to face the demands of the working environment as well as the ecological discussion.
