2012
Objective: To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of omeprazole and famotidine in treatment of duodenal ulcer. Methods: Related literature in Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),VIP database,Chinese Biomedical Literature Database(CBM),PubMed,EMBase and the Cochrane Library database during 1990 to 2011 was collected.Randomized control trials using omeprazole and famotidine for treatment of duodenal ulcer were selected and evaluated by Juni method.Meta analysis was performed by using RevMan 5.0 software and publication bias was analyzed by funnel plots. Results: According to the selection criteria,11 literature was selected,of which three was in Grade C,two in Grade B and six in Grade A.Meta analysis indicated that omeprazole was superior to famotidine with higher healing rates at week 2: OR=4.26,95%CI=(2.87,6.33),P0.05 and at week 4:OR=2.62,95%CI=(1.87,3.67),P0.05.There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse drug reactions between two drugs. Conclusion: Compared with famotidine, omeprazole has advantages of rapid onset and high healing rate. Therefore, omeprazole is the better choice for treatment of duodenal ulcer.
