Width of the 3.13 MeV state in 31P

Abstract The bremsstrahlung spectrum of 3.5 MeV electrons from a linear accelerator has been used to excite the 3.13 MeV level of 31 P. From a self-absorption experiment the width of this level was determined to be Γ = 49±10 meV.
