Cause analysis on the fracture failure of the cylindrical spring made of 60Si2CrVA

During the trial assembly process,fracture failure occurs in the cylindrical spring which is made of 60Si2CiVA to lock the elevator.Considering the manufacture process of the spring,cause analysis is made by atomic absorption spectrometry,scanning electron microscopy and metallographic examination.Several types of defects lead to the failure of spring are found such as the inhomogeneous chemical composition of raw materials,the shrinkage cavity and shrinkage,improper heat treatment process,etc.The effects of these defects on the fracture failure of the spring are also discussed.
