The Use of Egg Albumin Conjugates for the Purification of Antibody

1969
A simple procedure is described for obtaining purified anti-hapten antibodies in good yield. The hapten was coupled to egg albumin in solution and the resulting heavily substituted conjugate was rendered insoluble by boiling in solution at pH 4.5. The insoluble product was used as an immunoabsorbent, the purified antibody being recovered by displacement with hapten.
