Improved Model Predictive Current Control for Single-Phase Cascaded H-bridge Rectifier

2019
The computational complexity of finite-control-set model predictive control (FCS-MPC) is a big obstacle to limit its application. In order to solve this problem, an improved model predictive current control (IMPCC) algorithm is proposed in this paper, which takes single-phase cascaded H-bridge rectifier (CHBR) as the research object. The algorithm abandons the on-line optimization of minimum objective function and uses the method of calculating the component of the reference voltage vector on the $\alpha$ axis to determine the optimal sector. Without affecting the control performance of the system, the number of current predictions is reduced, and the computational complexity of model predictive current control (MPCC) algorithm is greatly reduced. Finally, MATLAB simulation experiments are built to verify the correctness and effectiveness of the proposed algorithm from both static and dynamic aspects.
