AVALIAÇÃO CLÍNICA DE RESTAURAÇÕES DE RESINA CONDENSÁVEL APÓS DOIS ANOS TWO-YEAR CLINICAL EVALUATION OF CONDENSABLE COMPOSITE RESTORATION

2006
SUMMARY The aim of this study was to compare the clinical performance of condensable composite with a micro hybrid composite and amalgam used in posterior restorations, after two years. Thirty three class I and II cavities were performed in 6 patients. Each patient should receive al least one restoration with each material, which were randomly assigned. The clinical examination was based on USPHS modified criteria for amalgam and USPHS adapted criteria for composite. The restorations were classified in clinically satisfactory (Alfa & Bravo) and clinically unsatisfactory (Charlie & Delta). Statistical analysis using Friedman and Kruskal-Wallis test showed no significant difference for times and materials investigated (p > 0.05). The majority of the restorations presented satisfactory performance after two-year follow-up.
