Tire Location systems and methods for tire pressure monitoring systems

The embodiments relate to the tire localization in tire pressure monitoring systems (Tire Pressure Monitoring System - TPMS). In some embodiments, a TPMS to a wheel unit (100) and a controller (112). Each wheel unit (100) collects acceleration data and sends this data for processing to the control unit (112). The control unit (112) processes the data and correlate the data using additional data that it receives from another vehicle system, such as an antilock braking system (ABS) or an electronic stability program (ESP) for each wheel unit (100) in a certain wheel (200) of the vehicle to locate. Benefits include higher processing power in the control unit in comparison to the wheel unit.
