Breeding of Baoyou 517, a hybrid rape variety with yellow seed and double-low.

Baoyou 517,a hybrid rape variety with yellow seed and double-low,was bred from the cross combination of 1528A(a sterile line with high oil content,yellow seed and double-low) ♀× 17R(a restorer line with yellow seed and double-low) ♂ and was approved by Guizhou Crops Variety Examination Committee in December,2008.The average yield in Guizhou regional tests from 2006 to 2008 was 168.51kg/667m2,5.91% higher than Youyan 10 and the test sites with yield increase accounted for 75% of total test sites.The average yield in Guizhou rape production tests from 2007 to 2008 was 173.0kg/667m2,3.53% higher than Youyan 10 and the test sites with yield increase accounted for 50% of total test sites.
