Prognosis parameters and polarimetric properties of erythrocytes of the patients suffering from arterial hypertension and coronary heart disease at various patterns of left ventricular remodeling

2011
ABSTRACT The results of examination of 35 ar terial hypertension and coronary h eart disease patients are presented. The clinical, paraclinical and echocar diographic examinations were performed, and the parameters of prognosis (survival) according to Seattle Heart Failure Model, as we ll as the optical (polarimetric) properties of erythrocytic suspension were determined. The group of patients under examination was stratified by patterns of remodeling of left ventricle (LV). It was determined that increasing of anisotropy of erythrocytic suspension along LV remodeling patterns continuum correlates with aggravation of structural and functional state of LV and is associated with unfa vorable prognosis. Keywords : arterial hypertension, coronary heart disease, prognosis, left ventricle, erythrocyte. 1. INTRODUCTION Heart remodeling, including that of left ventricle (LV), is a self-sufficient pathophysiological process leading to the progress of heart failure (HF) irrespective of neurohumoral status
