Die Siedlung Tornow- Borchelt . Zur Neudeutung ausgewählter Siedlungsstrukturen

This contribution deals with the settlement Tornow-"Borchelt" which was excavated and published by J. HERRMANN in 1973. In the publication a settlement pattern was presented that was soon questioned because of its technically unusual building reconstructions. However, as no complete plan of all features was published it was difficult to revise the details. The author has now re-investigated the published reconstruction for selected areas and is submitting completely different results for some of them as examples. In so doing it can also be demonstrated in other areas of the site that the earlier interpretation of this settlement has no parallels to other settlement landscapes, but house types known in other sites verify the new results. From this perspective the background of the previous completely mistaken interpretation of the settlement is clarified.
