Dual-band Coplanar SSPP Endfire Radiating Antenna

In this paper, a dual-band coplanar SSPP antenna is reported. This antenna shows end fire radiation at the two resonant frequencies viz. 5.38 GHz and 6.23 GHz. The efficiency of the antenna is observed to be more than 80% for both frequency bands. The gain of the antenna is approximately 2.8 dBi for 5.38 GHz and 4.8 dBi for 6.23 GHz. Antenna gain at the 6.23 GHz is enhanced by employing I-shaped resonators. The characteristic mode analysis of the SSPP antenna is also carried out and reported here for the first time.
