Genotypic differences in antioxidant response to phosphorus deficiency in Brassica napus

2015
Background and aims The effect of phosphorus (P) deficiency on plant growth and development depends on the ability of plants to adapt to induced stress. Oxidative stress may play a vital role in P deficient Brassica napus and the antioxidant ability of this plant may be an important mechanism for adapting to P deficiency. The present study aims to better understand the correlation between high P use efficiency and antioxidative ability by comparing the activity of antioxidant enzymes and lipid peroxidation in the leaves and roots of two B. napus genotypes.
