Prediction of breakthrough curves of SO2 adsorption on molecular sieve 5A
1992
Experimental breakthrough curves of SO 2 adsorption on molecular sieve 5A have been obtained for several operation conditions and compared with the theoretical curves calculated by using a model which takes into account the processes of axial dispersion, fluid-to-particle mass transfer, intraparticle diffusion and adsorption on the pore walls. For calculating the theoretical curves the model has been solved numerically by the Crank-Nicolson method. The values of the kinetic and equilibrium adsorption parameters have been determined by the pulse-response chromatographic method
