A mixed edition of Dewey: Presentation of a pilot study In this article the results of a pilot study on the feasibility of a mixed edition of Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) as a classifier’s tool are reported. A mixed translation uses existing DDC data in the vernacular plus additional data from the English-language full edition of the DDC to form a single mixed edition. The pilot study was conducted in Norway, by the National Library in cooperation with OCLC and the National Library of Sweden. The implications of the study in Norway and Sweden are also discussed, and short background information is given.
