Diseases Among Jewish People

1994
The Jewish people includes various ethnic groups that are unified by virtue of a common religion, language, history, and culture. The history of the Jewish people can be traced back to 1800 b.ce., when Abraham, who is considered to be the first Jew, emigrated from Mesopotamia (Iraq today) to Canaan (Israel today). Indeed, most of the Jews living today are considered to be his descendants. In 583 b.ce., Babylon conquered the country and expelled the majority of the population to the land that is now Iraq. With the passage of time, the Jewish people moved and resided in other countries. Today, Jewish people can be found in almost every country in the world, with their number estimated at approximately 14 million.
