Gas Transport and pH Disturbances

This chapter presents various problem sets related to gas transport and pH disturbances, which include the calculation of the concentrations of [H 2 PO 4 –1 ] and [HPO 4 –2 ] at pH 7.4 if the total phosphate concentration is 1 mM for the phosphate buffer system; and the total CO 2 content of arterial blood assuming an arterial pH of 7.4.
