The invention discloses an insect-derived flavor-enhancing peptide prepared from an edible insect and a processing byproduct thereof serving as main raw materials and a preparation method for the insect-derived flavor-enhancing peptide. The method comprises the following steps of: pre-treating an insect source, performing primary fermentation, separating an enzyme deactivation product by a composite enzymolysis process combining an Alcalase enzyme and a flavorzyme, concentrating, drying, and thus obtaining the insect-derived flavor-enhancing peptide. The insect-derived flavor-enhancing peptide prepared by adopting the method has the characteristics of delicious taste and mellowness, and can obviously promote the flavor of food when being added into the food.
