A multiplexed multi-channel video signal (18) is fed to three tuners (3, 4, 5). The tuners are controlled by a digital processor (7). The tuned signals are fed to the inputs (15, 16, 17) of the signal switching circuit (2). The outputs from a memory unit (6) are also fed to the inputs (20, 21, 22, 23) of the switching circuit (2). The four outputs (10, 11, 12, 13) of the switching circuit are fed to the mixer (1), which produces the final combined video output (14). The system allows a studio to mix received real time broadcast signals with appropriate signals from its memory bank.
