The present invention efficiently distributes a plurality of advertisements and selects highly-effective advertisements tailored to the viewer. A terminal device: receives and displays external content including an image of a prescribed quality and then receives advertisement data in which a plurality of pieces of advertisement data are multiplexed, each of said pieces of advertisement data including an image that is lower in quality than the aforementioned quality; displays one of the plurality of pieces of advertisement data; acquires user information; and uses said user information to select one of the pieces of advertisement data for a display means to display.
