Parametric Drawing Profile Milling Cutter Based on AutoCAD

In order to improve the drawing efficiency of turbine semi-finished milling cutter with fir-tree groove in AutoCAD software, the mathematical model for calculating the triangle area of three known points is established by analyzing the drawing method by hand, and the coordinates of the center of circle are solved. The mathematical models of three tangent circles are established, and the tangent arcs are calculated for each adjacent wave arcs. By using bulge formula, the bulge of each segment of multi-line segments is deduced. The mathematical model of the relation among radius of tangent circle, wavelength and wave depth is also established. Based on these mathematical models, the parametric drawing software of semi-finishing milling cutter with fir-tree groove was designed by AUTOLISP software. The application results show that the tool designer can draw the tool profile automatically by inputting only four parameters (number of teeth, wavelength, wave depth and radius R) after running the software, which greatly shortens the time of tool design and technical preparation.
