Proposal for a Deep-Sea System for Evaluating Acoustic Transducers (DEEPSEAT).
1972
Abstract : A program for solving the problem of evaluating transducers at elevated hydrostatic pressure when existing facilities are not adequate for that purpose is proposed. The program would develop a calibration platform to be lowered to the required depth in the deep ocean. The calibration experiments would be controlled from the ocean surface by means of a hardwire telemetry link. Measurement data would be telemetered back to the surface by the same link for processing and interpretation. Emphasis is placed upon the use of a minicomputer for control of the measurement procedures and for processing and display of the results. (Author)
