Spin for the treatment of blood and blood components

A centrifuge for processing blood and blood components in a processing bag (4, 22) connected to at least one secondary bag (21, 33) comprises a rotor (1) for spinning a processing bag (4, 22) and separating a content thereof in at least two components, and a squeezing member (5) for exposing a processing bag (4, 22) to an external pressure and causing a transfer of a separated component from a processing bag (4, 22) into a secondary bag (21, 33). Electrically powered devices, such as valves (9, 10, 11) and photocells (52), are mounted on the rotor (1) for controlling a transfer of fluid from a processing bag (4, 22) into a secondary bag (21, 33). An electrical power supply system (14, 15) supplies the electrically powered devices (9, 10, 11, 52) with electrical power through the rotor (1).
