Analysis of Argumentation Skills for Argumentation Training Support

In law schools, to educate students in argumentation skills, argumentation training is often conducted. To reduce the burden of a supervisor, we developed an argumentation agent. By using this argumentation agent, students can join the training for themselves without help from a supervisor. However, after the training, evaluation of the quality of argumentation is necessary. In this paper, we propose a method to evaluate argumentation skills from argumentation records. At first, we attach annotation to the utterances in the record, and extract several feature pattern of annotations. Then, we ask a supervisor to make a score of argumentation skills for argumentation records. Finally, we analyze correlation among feature patterns and scores by multiple regression analysis, and find on what features the supervisors focused when they give a score.
