An improved MMSE-based parallel iterative intercarrier interference cancellation algorithm

Time variations of the wireless channel destroy the orthogonality and lead to power leakage among subcarriers in OFDM system,which cause the intercarrier interference(ICI) and degrade the performance of the system.In this paper,we first modify the MMSE criterion on the basis of the characteristics of ICI,and then propose an improved parallel iterative ICI cancellation algorithm based on the modified MMSE criterion.The proposed algorithm outperforms the traditional PIC method in BER performance,and has robustness to speed variations of the wireless channel.Simulation results on Jakes Rayleigh fading channel demonstrate its good performance.
