Stakeholders' Need Assessment and Community Participation: A Case of Harra and Ramgarh Villages of Chopan Block, Sonbhadra District

2009
Despite all developmental planning measures the result at the grass root level are still not that prominent as it should have after fifty seven years of independence. Sidelining people from the policy formulation process has long been considered as the main obstacle in the process of development. It is high time that people who are the ultimate stakeholders be absorbed into the process so as to understand their needs and aspirations at the lowest possible levels of planning. This paper attempts to relate the stakeholders needs and aspirations so as to holistically achieve the essence of community participation.
