Smart Agriculture Management System with Remote Sensing Technology for Corn

2018
India is one of the major contributors of agricultural products to the world; it accounts for almost 18% to its own gross domestic product and generates employment to almost 50% of workforce in India. Conclusively agriculture forms the backbone of Indian economy. Owing to the climatic diversity and natural disasters in addition to damages that crop face in terms non-favorable condition and diseases reduces productivity; thus agriculture management systems equipped with remote sensing technology with minimum interference to environment and maximum profitability are the need of hour. The proposed model addresses intelligent crop monitoring using remote sensing and Corn crop has been utilized as an input sample. Corn is among important cereal crops produced in India, It is also known as the “Queen of cereals”. India is not among the heavy producer of maize, it shares only 2% of total worldwide maize production. The percentage contribution is further reduced by losses and damages. The proposed model presents a technique to increase overall production of the corn with help of remote sensing methods.
