Estudios de Validez del Youth Self Report/11 - 18 en Adolescentes Mexicanos

2019
Th e objective of this study was to evaluate the construct validity and the reliability of the official international Hispanic version of the YSR/11 - 18 in Mexican adolescents. A sample of 790 students aged 13 to 18 years was intentionally recruited from publi c secondary and high schools in the metropolitan zone of Mexico City. This sample was divided in two parts or samples. An exploratory factor analysis was carried out with sample one and a confirmatory factor analysis was conducted with data from sample two . A structure of t welve Narrow Band factors was observed, eight original factors and four new factors. These were integrated in four Broad Band factors: Internalizing, Externalizing, and Mixed, and a new one of Positive Qualities, as reported in recent res earch. The factorial structure in this study presents adequate psychometric properties and seems to be useful both to evaluate mental health problems and adolescents’ resources.
