The study of Phalaenopsis seedlings with LED illumination

2017
This study employed red and blue light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and cold cathode fluorescent lamps (CCFLs) to stimulate orchid seedlings and examine the influence of various light sources in mother stock flasks. Using the Taguchi method, we identified the optimal parameter combination to be photoperiod 12 hours, ON-period 30 %, CCFL 0 Lux, red LED 500 Lux, and blue LED 150 Lux. The results show that red and blue LED light sources are sufficient to greatly increase bud growth, contributing to a 2.5 times greater growth rate.
