Research on the improvement of tear strength of polysulfonamide woven fabric

Low tearing strength is an important factor restricting the use of China - made polysulfonamide fiber(PSA) in high performance flame retardant fabric.By blending with high performance fiber in the yarn,modifying fabric structure and after finish,the tear strength of PSA fabric can be effectively improved.The trapezoid tear method is used to evaluate the tearing strength of PSA protective fabric. The result shows that,by blending 5%Kevlar fiber in the yarn,using 2/2 basket weave and applying soft finishing,the tearing strength of the PSA fabric can reach 100 N,meeting the performance requirements of GA10 -2002 of flame retardant fabric for fire fighters.
