Synthesis of Novel 6-O-modified β-Cyclodextrins

A series of novel cyclodextrin derivatives, i. e., mono [6-O-(p-methylbenzoyl)]-β-cyclodextrin), mono [6-O-(p-bromobenzoyl)] -β-cyclodextrin and mono (6-O-cinnyl) β-cyclodextrin were synthesized from β-cyclodextrin to reveal the role of the hydrophilic group in the guest molecule. Their structures were confirmed by elementary analysis, IR, (superscript 1)H NMR, (superscript 13)C NMR, EI-MS and HRMS.
