Developing silicon pixel detectors for gamma-ray and cosmic-ray astrophysics

We are developing monolithic silicon (Si) pixel detectors for space-borne gamma-ray and cosmic-ray instruments. Si-based tracking detectors have been used by many space-based instruments in the past decade. The particle physics community is developing Si pixel detectors with better spatial resolution and lower power requirements per channel. We are leveraging the expertise in the ground-based development of these high-resolution pixel detectors and optimize them for space-based future gamma-ray and cosmic-ray missions.
