Licensing of Software for Safety-critical Applications on the Basis of Operating Experience

Under certain conditions it is possible to license software on the basis of operating experience. If the operational profile for gaining the operating experience is different to the operational profile of the intended application, re-calculation is feasible. Operationg experience is valid only, if the related software and its operating experience can be clearly authenticated. The software must also meet certain general quality requirements.
