Experimental Study on Different Ionic Strength of Microbial Fuel Cells

In the matrix of the same concentration( 1 500 mg / L),the effect of different Na Cl concentration( 0,50,100,200,300 and 400 mmol / L) on the MFC electric potential,internal resistance,output power,Kulun efficiency were discussed. As the Na Cl concentration increased,the internal resistance reduced significantly,the output power density increased,but high concentrations can lead to microbial cell dehydration death,which has a devastating effect on MFC. When the concentration of the Ionic strength is 200 mmol / L,the effect of MFC is optimal. The maximum open circuitvoltage is 1 138 m V,the internal resistance of 205. 8Ω,the maximum output power density is 230. 35 m W / m2,the COD removal efficiency reached 90. 35%,30. 89% Kulun efficiency.
