Ultrasonic and microwave investigations of protonic conductor Cs5D3(SO4)4

Abstract The results of research on temperature and frequency dependencies of Cs5D3(SO4)4 over the range 1 MHz to 4 GHz between 150–400K are presented. The relaxation mode with broad distribution of relaxation times was observed. It was showed that relaxation time follows Vogel-Fulcher law τ=τexp[E/(T-T0)] with the mean value of energy variable E = 3026K. It was suggested, that observed dispersion is related to dipolar glass state in Cs3D3(SO4)4. Results of ultrasonic measurements confirm existence of the broad relaxation mode.
