Avaliação do consumo energético de um nó sensor sem fio em uma solução de internet das coisas.

2016
Studies have shown that there is a relation between the traffic intensity and the search for a parking spot. Within the Internet of Things (IoT) context, smart parking (SP) is the set of technologies used to assist the drivers finding a spot with agility. Studies have been conducted in order to develop wireless sensor nodes (WSN) prototypes to monitor parking spots, both in open and enclosed spaces. However, there is a necessity for low cost, high energy efficiency, easy maintenance, scalability, and an intuitive interface for the interaction with the final users. This study proposes an energy evaluation of WSN prototypes that monitors parking spots. Improvements were made via software and hardware changes to one of the WSN prototypes, as well as the addition of technologies for capturing energy from the environment (Environmental Energy Harvesters - EEH) to, increasing prototype autonomy.
