Anti-inflammatory Properties of Furobufen

1974
Furobufen (γ-oxo-2-dibenzofuranbutyric acid) produced anti-inflammatory, antiarthritic, and antipyretic effects. It also reduced the pain resulting from an acute inflammatory reaction. The potency of furobufen to inhibit carrageenin-induced paw edema was comparable to that of phenylbutazone. The activity profile of furobufen was similar to that of the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
