Mechanical structure for the SUBARU Telescope

The SUBARU telescope requires high image quality. To achieve this high image quality, the structure of high stiffness has been designed. Main drive system of high smoothness using direct drive motor of very low cogging torque and secondary drive system of high accuracy using unique mechanism configuration have been developed and tested.
