Pathogenesis of cognitive dysfunction in diabetes

In recent years,the impact of diabetes on cognitive function in a cross-disciplinary research is a central point.Recent studies have confirmed that the core of diabetic cognitive impairment are neuronal damage,loss and functional down-regulation.The underlying mechanisms are cerebrovascular disorders,metabolism disorders,the lack of neurotrophic factors,the abnormal expression of the brain rennin-angiotensin system,the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis hyperfunction,etc. Key words: Diabetes mellitus;  Cognitive function;  Pathogenesis
