Viscosities and excess molar volumes of binary liquid mixtures of 1,4-dichlorobutane and some hydrocarbon solvents at 308.15 K, 313.15 K, and 318.15 K

2019
ABSTRACTViscosities (η) and densities (ρ) of binary liquid mixtures of 1,4-dichlorobutane with cyclohexane, benzene, methylbenzene, 1,2-dimethylbenzene, 1,4-dimethylbenzene, and 1,3,5-trimethylbenzene are measured over the whole concentration range at 308.15 K, 313.15 K, and 318.15 K. Excess molar volumes from density measurements and deviation in viscosities () from viscosity measurements have been estimated for all binary mixtures. Viscosity values increase with increase in mole fractions () of 1,4-dichlorobutane in the mixtures. values are negative and values are positive at the three experimental temperatures for all the binary mixtures except the mixture with 1,4-dichlorobutane + methylbenzene where is negative. The Redlich–Kister polynomial is fitted to and values, and standard deviations, and , have been determined. The correlating performances of several equations for viscosities show that the Hind–McLaughlin–Ubbelohde equation gives minimum value of standard deviation for interaction parameter at...
